Double-Take Software empowers you with the most advanced real-time data replication and failover solutions for complete data protection.
Double-Take real-time replication technology reduces the window for data loss, is more efficient than tape, and less costly than tape or other replication solutions. Because Double-Take replicates data in near real-time, an up-to-the-second copy of data is always available on the back up server.
Real-time replication with Double-Take also uses unique compression and bandwidth throttling features that allow an administrator to control the amount and timing of bandwidth used for backup. Double-Take can utilize existing infrastructure and is hardware agnostic; there's no large investment or hidden costs standing between you and better backups, making Double-take a cost-effective real-time replication solution.
Real-time replication for the protection of Windows Applications.
Double-Take's real-time application allows for the complete recovery of any Microsoft Windows application and the data associated with it within minutes. Many Double-Take Software customers replicate their data across continents and oceans to provide nearly instantaneous recovery regardless of the cause of the outage. It combines continuous real-time data replication and automatic failover capabilities for disaster recovery, high availability, and centralized backup of applications. The real-time replication protection of Double-Take provides a Recovery Point Objective (RPO) usually measured in seconds.
Why choose Double-Take for real-time replication?
Because today Double-Take® is the most relied-upon solution for real-time replication of critical data and automated failover for application availability. Double-Take is Microsoft Windows 2000 and 2003 certified at all levels, one of the few real-time replication products to have achieved this level of certification. It delivers real-time replication protection that is better or comparable to many hardware-based solutions, but costs tens of thousands less.

How Double-Take Software's Real-Time Replication Data Protection and Recovery Services Work
- Volumes and files on the source are selected for real-time replication and then target server(s) and path(s) are selected for data backup.
- Double-Take compares source and target files and then synchronizes the differences at a block level.
- On-going changes to selected files are captured at the byte level for replication as they occur for data backup services.
- Changes are transmitted continuously or per user-defined conditions, such as bandwidth limits or start/stop conditions.
- A data protection solution target receives and applies the changes to target volumes.
- Data back up services target server monitors the source server and can initiate fail over automatically or manually.
- Fail back releases the identity of the source allowing original source to rejoin the network.
- The restore function returns current data back to original machine providing a data protection solution.
Double-Take real-time replication makes changes to files at the byte-level from any Windows Server to any other Windows Server across any IP-based network. It installs on each server and uses a file system filter driver to determine what changes are occurring to files and it replicates those file operations to another server and applies them to a secondary copy of the data. All changes are sent and applied in the exact order that they occurred on the production system, guaranteeing a crash-consistent copy of data on the secondary system.

What IDC is Saying About Replication:
"With customers buying and installing record amounts of storage-hardware capacity, the need for storage software has never been greater," says Rhoda Phillips, research manager for IDC storage software. "Buyers are particularly interested in replication software to help ensure that their disaster-recovery and business-continuity plans are viable in planning for recovery from any unwelcome and unpredictable events that might occur." – VARBusiness, Chris Gonsalves, October 11, 2006"
What Our Customers Are Saying:
"With Double-Take, the restoration of data and applications is cut down to hours or less. It represents a tremendous advancement in disaster recovery and business continuity." - Thaddeus Darcy, MassHousing"
"We now have peace of mind that we can recover from even the most drastic disaster scenario in a relatively short time with minimal impact to our attorney's and their clients. Double-Take protects the work we do and protects our clients, no matter what else is going on in the world around us." - Dan Surowiec, Manager of Global Technology Operations, Baker & McKenzie"
