Double-Take® Software and Silver Peak Systems to Highlight Importance of Data Availability for the Legal ProfessionInternational Legal Technology Association, INSIGHT 2008, London, 15th April 2008 Worcester, UK, 25th February 2008 - Double-Take® Software (NASDAQ: DBTK) today announced that it will be joining up with partner, WAN Optimisation appliance vendor Silver Peak Systems, at the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) IINSIGHT 2008 event, taking place at the Hilton London Tower Bridge, London, UK, on 15th April 2008. Both vendors will highlight the importance of data protection and availability, and provide strategies that support the typical infrastructure and requirements of the legal profession. Ian Masters, UK sales and marketing director at Double-Take Software commented, "The average legal practice has the highest percentage of revenue generating workers per company of any major industry in the world. As a result, it is financially critical for firms to support employee productivity with high availability of IT systems. Additionally, because of the level of disclosure clients must give to their lawyers, they often place significant amounts of their own data in the hands of their legal team. Regulations concerning the availability and accessibility of data, arguably, transfer to the legal practice. We are delighted to be appearing at INSIGHT with our partner, Silver Peak, as together we provide a data protection and recoverability solution that dovetails with the typical IT infrastructure found in law firms." Many law firms have a central head office with multiple branch offices, all connecting to core IT systems by Wide Area Network (WAN). Silver Peak provides scalable WAN acceleration solutions. Double-Take® Software provides data protection and recovery solutions. The vendors' partnership ensures secure real-time replication, backup and recovery in high capacity WAN environments, helping law firms improve business continuity and disaster recovery planning across geographically disperse locations. Robert Drew, UK Sales Director at Silver Peak, said: "Our technology is designed to help facilitate efficient and effective data back-up and to speed up the performance of applications and network traffic between offices. This, combined with Double Take data replication and application availability solutions, makes us particularly useful to legal firms looking to maximize their use of IT and to protect their assets and business performance. We look forward to working with DoubleTake at this event." McVey & Murricane is a firm of Glasgow solicitors, specialising in conveyancing, remortgaging and repossession. When Aiden Curran, the firm's head of ICT, wanted to implement an IT strategy that integrated disaster recovery, high availability and strong data security, he selected a solution from Double-Take Software, "We value our clients and always strive to implement systems and business processes that provide a greater working relationship. As data is critical to our business we wanted to bolster our network architecture with a system that would provide us with greater continuity of service and accessibility of data in the event of hardware faults, application issues or even environmental occurrences. Double-Take was selected because of its business continuity features, ability to work with multiple platform applications and its easily manageable user interface." ILTA is the premier peer networking organisation, providing information to members to maximise the value of technology in the support of the legal profession. INSIGHT is an opportunity to hear from leading technologists and business strategists who will share their expertise within key areas of interest to the legal profession. Educational sessions will focus on practice management systems, digital rights management, outsourcing, e-disclosure, KM and enterprise search, "crystal ball" technologies, e-billing and much more.
