AVL200 - Implementing Double-Take© Availability

Class description:

AVL200 Double-Take Availability provides you with the baseline skills for installing, configuring, and using Double-Take© Availability in your environment.

You will learn and practice using all aspects of the core Double-Take© technology, including key features such as failover, failback, restoration, orphan file control, bandwidth limiting, compression, advanced scripting options, basic Double-Take Command Language, as well as troubleshooting techniques and best practices.

AVL200 Double-Take Availability is a lab-intensive class. You will use Double-Take© Software Availability products extensively in active learning labs.

You will also learn how to use the Double-Take© Console and Double-Take© Reporting Center for statistical analysis, identify key Double-Take© performance counters, and how to use various performance monitor tools for troubleshooting.

The class includes thorough explanation and use of Double-Take© Availability Application Manager for MS Exchange 2007 and MS SQL Server 2008.

Double-Take© Availability Full Server Failover for system state protection is also provided.

Class prerequisites

This class is designed for a wide variety of individuals, from sales personnel to system engineers. You are most likely to have success in this class if you possess the following skills:

Have intermediate knowledge of the Windows© 2008 Server interface and familiarity with its terminology including connecting to network shares, using the Windows Explorer© to cut, paste, copy files, add or connect to network shares/drives, and navigate the Windows© operating system without instruction.
Have experience with graphical user administration tools on a network.
Have hands-on experience with computer hardware and software.
Have installed Windows 2008 Server© and service packs.
Use the Windows Event Viewer to troubleshoot system issues.

BAK200 - Implementing Double-Take© Backup and Double-Take© Move

Class description:

BAK200 Implementing Double-Take© Backup and Double-Take© Move provides you with the baseline skills for installing, configuring, and using Double-Take© Backup and Double-Take© Move in your environment.

You will learn and practice using all aspects of Double-Take© Backup, Double-Take© Cargo for archiving, and Double-Take© Move for data migration.

You will use Double-Take© Backup extensively in active learning labs, including options for system state protection, continuous data protection, and using Kroll© Ontrack PowerControls for recovering MS Exchange data.

Class prerequisites

This class is designed for a wide variety of individuals, from sales personnel to system engineers. You are most likely to have success in this class if you possess the following skills:

Have intermediate knowledge of the Windows© 2003 Server interface and familiarity with its terminology including connecting to network shares, using the Windows Explorer© to cut, paste, copy files, add or connect to network shares/drives, and navigate the Windows© operating system without instruction.
Have experience with graphical user administration tools on a network.
Have hands-on experience with computer hardware and software.
Use the Windows Event Viewer to troubleshoot system issues.

GC144 - Clustering Solutions with Double-Take and GeoCluster

This class provides hands-on experience in configuring and using Double-Take©, GeoCluster©, and GeoCluster PLUS© to provide high availability of data and applications. Students will progress logically from basic Microsoft© Cluster Service configuration and testing in a shared disk environment, to using Double-Take©, GeoCluster© , GeoCluster PLUS©, and the Double-Take Application Manager (DTAM) in a clustered environment for high availability and disaster recovery. The class features full lab exercises for protecting Microsoft© SQL Server 2000 using GeoCluster© (for high availability) and GeoCluster PLUS© with DTAM (for disaster recovery). Additionally, using troubleshooting tools such as the Windows Event Viewer, the Double-Take Log, and the Cluster log is also covered.

Class Prerequisites

This is a technical class with exposure to Microsoft Windows 2003 Server, Microsoft Clustering Service, GeoCluster installation, and configuration.

You are more likely to have success in this class if you possess the following skills:

Have intermediate knowledge of the Windows 2003 Server interface and familiarity with its terminology including connecting to network shares, using the Windows Explorer to cut, paste, copy files, add or connect to network shares/drives, and navigate the Windows operating system without instruction.
Have experience with graphical user administration tools on a network.
Have hands-on experience with computer hardware and software.
Have installed Windows 2003 Server and service packs.
Use the services panel to start and stop services.
Use the event viewer to troubleshoot GeoCluster system issues.
