Encompass Lighting Group

Double-Take® Availability protecting J.D. Edwards EnterpriseOne application: Located in Skokie, IL, the Encompass Lighting Group develops some of North America’s premier lighting brands. Their core business applications include ERP (JD Edwards), fax automation (orders receipt system), and a bar coding data collection system called dcLINK. Encompass Lighting had an increasing demand for real time, full server  availability – including availability of the data, applications and the operating system. If a disaster were to occur, they had no real time, reliable solution to depend on to protect and quickly recover their critical workloads. These insecurities led them to investigate and eventually implement a new technology solution – Double-Take Availability.


Derby County Council
Derbyshire County Council provides educational, social, public transport and public safety services to a community of 750,000 citizens. They have a large amount of data to manage and without access to this information, the ability of the Council to serve the public would be seriously impacted.
They needed a simple, effective method for backing up their data without affecting everyday activities. “Double-Take Software’s approach to data replication complemented the Council’s existing business continuity processes and was the most cost-effective way for us to meet our DR aims,” said Jake Moore, Derbyshire County Council  service delivery specialist.
